13.3 Overtaking prohibitions
The driver of an overtaking vehicle must ensure that the overtaking does not cause danger.
An Overtaking Prohibited sign prohibits the overtaking of moving vehicles other than two-wheeled motorcycles without a sidecar, or mopeds. However, it is allowed to overtake a vehicle that is preparing to turn in an intersection area and is on an adjacent turning lane. The sign is effective until the next motorway or road intersection or until the End of Prohibition of Overtaking sign.

A vehicle may not use the lane for oncoming traffic to overtake another vehicle at a pedestrian crossing, or at or just before intersections or level crossings. However, this overtaking rule does not apply outside city limits, except at intersections for which a warning sign has been given.
Overtaking using the side of oncoming traffic is prohibited:
If a road bend or hill top conceals the view so that it is not possible to overtake safely.
If the lane used for overtaking is not clear and there is no sufficient space to complete the overtaking safely.
If you cannot return to the traffic flow without danger and without disturbing other traffic unnecessarily.
If a vehicle in front of you indicates that it is about to overtake.
If a vehicle travelling behind has already begun to overtake you.
At road intersections and level crossings or when approaching them. The prohibition on overtaking does not affect an intersection where the side road is a farm road or other minor road. Outside of urban areas, overtaking is prohibited at intersections if indicated in advance by a road sign.
If an overtaking prohibition is marked by a road sign or by a continuous yellow line to the right of the center line of the road. A dashed yellow line indicates that it is changing into a continuous yellow line.
